The Short Version
LaFood imports and distributes Asian food products to restaurants and kitchens across Lebanon. They had thirty years of product knowledge and no website, no photos and no presence on Google. I built all three.

Who Is LaFood
LaFood (also written La Food) is an Asian food importer and wholesale supplier based in Aramoun, Lebanon, serving restaurants, sushi bars, caterers, hotels and professional kitchens across Beirut and the rest of the country. The company has been importing Asian ingredients for more than thirty years.
The range covers more than 330 products: Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Korean sauces, frozen items such as bao buns, calamari and mochi, dry ingredients, canned goods like coconut milk and bamboo shoots, noodles and rice, cooking oils, and the decorations and utensils a sushi or Asian kitchen needs. Products are sold by the case to trade customers, with inquiries made through the website.
You can browse the full LaFood catalogue at lafood-lb.com. The rest of this page is about how that website was built.
LaFood had been importing Asian food products for over thirty years, but the business existed only on social media. Restaurant buyers had no way to browse the range, check what was available, or see what a product looked like before calling. Every inquiry started from zero.
There was no product photography either. Hundreds of items had never been shot, so the catalogue could not exist until the photos did, and the business was invisible for the searches its customers actually use.
One place where every LaFood product could be seen, organised by category, with a clear path for a restaurant or retailer to get in touch.
And a site that would actually show up when someone in Lebanon searched for an Asian food supplier, not a brochure nobody finds.
Thirty years of product knowledge counts for nothing if a chef searching at 11pm never sees it. The catalogue and the ranking were the same job.
What I Built
Four workstreams, one person. The photography came first because nothing else could exist without it.
Working alongside a photographer, we shot more than 330 products in a consistent style. I then edited every image, cut it to a clean background, and prepared it for the web.
WordPress with WooCommerce set up as a catalogue, not a shop: every product has its own page with photo, description and category, and the call to action is an inquiry, which is how a B2B Asian food distributor actually sells. Seven categories: sauces, frozen items, dry ingredients, canned items, noodles & rice, oil, and decorations & utensils.
Keyword-led titles and descriptions built around “Asian food supplier in Lebanon”, clean structure, schema markup, compressed images, a blog for ingredient and cooking content, and a Google Business Profile for the Aramoun location.
Facebook, Instagram and TikTok connected to the site and managed on an ongoing basis, using the same product photography so the brand looks the same everywhere.
Twelve of the 330. Every product on the LaFood site was shot on the same setup and edited to the same standard, so the catalogue reads as one range rather than a pile of supplier images.
Under the Hood
The Result
Search “Asian food supplier in Lebanon” and LaFood is the first organic result. That is the whole point of the project in one line.
Rankings move with location, device and time. This is a dated, unpersonalised search from Lebanon, not a promise.
Who Did What
Most sites like this pass through a designer, a developer, a photographer, an editor and an SEO. Here it was one thread the whole way.
Hussein ⇆worked directly with Omar Hussein Dakkik, owner of LaFood · Omar Halabi, everything on the build
The photographer handled the camera on shoot day. Everything else on this project (strategy, design, development, editing, catalogue entry, SEO and social) was me, with Hussein as the single point of contact on the client side.
In the Client's Words
“The difference is huge. The website looks much more professional now, and the SEO work helped us become far more visible on Google. We’re reaching people who simply weren’t finding us before.”
