Website Redesign in Lebanon (2026): Costs, Timeline & How to Protect Your SEO
Short answer: If your business website looks outdated, performs badly on mobile, or no longer brings enquiries, a redesign may be worth the investment. In Lebanon, the right approach is to improve the design, performance and customer experience while protecting the pages and Google rankings you’ve already built.
A typical website redesign takes around 2–5 weeks, depending on the number of pages, required features and how much existing content can be reused. Pricing depends on the scope, so I recommend reviewing the current website before quoting a fixed amount.
But not every website needs to be rebuilt.
Sometimes a few targeted improvements are enough. Other times, keeping an outdated structure costs more than replacing it.
I’m Omar Halabi, a web developer in Lebanon working with businesses in Beirut, across Lebanon and in the GCC. I design and build business websites, ecommerce stores and custom web applications.
In this guide, I’ll explain when to redesign your website, how much it can cost, how the process works and how to avoid losing valuable Google traffic during the transition.
1. When Should You Redesign Your Website?
The best reason to redesign a website isn’t that its design is a few years old.
It’s that the website no longer does what your business needs.
Here are the signs I would look for before recommending a redesign.
Your website no longer represents your business
Your company may have expanded, introduced new services, changed its branding or started targeting customers outside Lebanon.
But your website might still describe your business as it was three years ago.
When your services, brand and website tell different stories, visitors may struggle to understand what you offer.
A redesign can bring your website back in line with your business today.
Your website looks unprofessional on mobile
Open your website on your phone, without using a desktop preview.
Can you read the text comfortably? Is the navigation clear? Are the buttons easy to tap? Does the contact option remain accessible?
If someone in Beirut finds your business on Google and cannot use the website comfortably on a phone, the design is creating unnecessary friction.
Mobile usability should be part of the foundation, not something added after the desktop design is finished.
Visitors cannot find what they’re looking for
A visitor should quickly understand three things:
- What your business does.
- Why they should consider you.
- How to contact you, book or buy.
If your homepage is crowded with unrelated sections, your services are difficult to find or the next step is unclear, changing the visual design alone may not solve the problem.
You may need a better content structure and user journey.
Your website is slow or difficult to maintain
Oversized images, unnecessary plugins, outdated themes and inefficient code can affect performance.
Some problems can be fixed without a redesign. Others come from decisions made when the website was first built.
Before rebuilding anything, identify whether the problem is related to hosting, the platform, the theme or the website’s actual structure.
Your website gets traffic but very few enquiries
This is one of the most important warning signs.
If people reach your website through Google but rarely contact you, the problem might be your message, service presentation, forms or calls to action.
A redesign should address those issues, not simply introduce a new color palette.
I’ve also written about 10 web design mistakes that make a website look outdated. That article is a useful starting point if you’re evaluating your site’s current design.
2. Website Refresh vs Redesign vs Complete Rebuild
Before requesting quotes, understand what level of work your website actually needs.
| Option | What it involves | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Website refresh | Improving selected sections, images, typography, forms or buttons | The structure and platform are still working well |
| Website redesign | Reworking layouts, navigation, page structure and customer journeys | The website no longer reflects your business or converts effectively |
| Complete rebuild | Replacing the underlying website architecture or platform | The current system is limiting performance, security or future development |
For example, if your WordPress website is technically sound but looks dated, replacing the homepage layout and improving a few service pages may be enough.
If your website uses an unsupported theme, has serious technical limitations or cannot accommodate the services you’re adding, a more extensive rebuild may make sense.
My approach is to recommend the smallest intervention that solves the actual business problem.
A complete rebuild shouldn’t be the default answer to every design issue.
3. How Much Does Website Redesign Cost in Lebanon in 2026?
Website redesign cost in Lebanon depends primarily on what needs to change and what can be preserved.
A small business website with existing content and a functioning WordPress installation is different from a multilingual ecommerce store that needs a new platform, product migration and payment integration.
What affects the redesign price?
Number of pages
Redesigning a five-page business website usually requires less work than restructuring a fifty-page corporate website.
Content changes
If your existing copy, photographs and service descriptions are still accurate, some of that material can be reused.
If the entire website needs new content, photography or branding, the scope increases.
Existing technology
A website built on a well-maintained platform may be easier to redesign than one using outdated custom code or an unsupported theme.
English and Arabic versions
A bilingual website requires additional design, content and testing work.
Proper Arabic support involves right-to-left layouts, correctly structured navigation and language-specific content.
Ecommerce functionality
Stores may require product migration, payment gateway integration, delivery configuration and complete checkout testing.
SEO preservation
If your website already receives traffic from Google, the redesign should include reviewing important pages, preserving useful content, planning redirects and checking indexing after launch.
My website redesign pricing approach
I use fixed USD quotes after reviewing the website and agreeing on the scope.
For reference, my published pricing for a new standard business website is generally $500–$1,000, depending on requirements.
A redesign is quoted separately. It may cost less when the existing content and technical foundation can be retained, but a complex migration or rebuild can cost more.
I don’t recommend giving a redesign price before understanding what is already working and what needs to change.
If you’re comparing costs, my 2026 website development guide for Lebanon explains new-build pricing, project timelines and the features that affect development budgets.
For your existing website, you can request a free review and fixed quote.
4. How Long Does a Website Redesign Take in Lebanon?
For a typical business website, I generally allow around 2–5 weeks for a redesign.
That timeframe depends on the scope and how quickly content, access and feedback are available.
A focused refresh may take less time. A large ecommerce migration or complex multilingual rebuild may require longer.
Here’s how I approach the process.
Stage 1: Review the existing website
Before designing anything, I review the existing pages, mobile experience, structure, technical setup and business goals.
I want to know which pages are useful, which ones are underperforming and which features must remain.
If the website already ranks on Google, that information is part of the planning.
Stage 2: Plan the new structure
Next, I decide what needs to change.
That might involve simplifying the navigation, reorganizing service pages, improving the homepage or designing clearer paths to contact and purchase.
The objective is to make the website easier to use and more effective for your business.
Stage 3: Design and approval
The new visual direction is prepared for review before the complete build.
Typography, spacing, imagery, page hierarchy and mobile layouts should support the business rather than distract from it.
Stage 4: Development and testing
The approved design is implemented and tested.
I check responsive layouts, forms, links, performance, integrations and other important features.
For ecommerce websites, that includes testing the actual order process.
Stage 5: Launch and handover
The new website goes live after the important checks are complete.
That includes confirming redirects, indexing settings, analytics, contact forms and other launch requirements.
The project ends with access and ownership in the client’s hands, plus any agreed support.

5. Will Redesigning Your Website Hurt Your Google Rankings?
This is one of the first questions I would ask if I were hiring someone to redesign an established website.
The answer is that a redesign doesn’t automatically hurt SEO, but a poorly managed redesign can.
If Google already understands your website and some pages receive search traffic, changing everything without a plan can create unnecessary risk.
A redesign should protect the useful SEO work you’ve already invested in.
Step 1: Check your existing Google Search Console data
Before starting, identify which pages currently receive impressions and clicks from Google.
Look at the queries bringing people to your website and the pages that appear in search results.
A page that looks outdated may still be attracting potential customers.
Deleting or changing it without reviewing its performance can be a mistake.
Step 2: Keep important URLs when possible
If a service page already ranks for a relevant search, keeping its existing URL is often the simplest approach.
Changing a page’s design doesn’t mean its address needs to change.
For example, if your existing contact page works at /contact/, there may be no reason to replace it with /get-in-touch-now/.
Preserve useful URLs unless there’s a clear reason to change them.
Step 3: Use 301 redirects for changed URLs
If a URL must change, visitors and search engines should be directed to the appropriate replacement page.
Permanent server-side redirects, such as 301 redirects, are the standard approach.
Don’t redirect every deleted page to the homepage. Each redirect should lead to the closest relevant destination.
Google explains the recommended approach in its official site migration documentation.
Step 4: Preserve useful content and search intent
A redesign is an opportunity to improve content, but removing valuable information can change which searches a page is relevant for.
Keep content that answers important customer questions.
Improve weak sections, remove genuine duplication and maintain the purpose of pages that are already performing.
A shorter page isn’t automatically better, and neither is a longer one.
Step 5: Check technical SEO before launch
Before launching a redesigned website, verify:
- Important pages can be crawled and indexed.
- Page titles and descriptions are appropriate.
- Canonical URLs point to the intended pages.
- Internal links work correctly.
- Structured data is valid where applicable.
- English and Arabic pages use the appropriate language setup.
- No accidental
noindexor staging restrictions remain. - The XML sitemap includes the correct URLs.
These details should be included in the redesign process rather than treated as optional work after launch.
Step 6: Test performance and mobile usability
A visually impressive redesign can still perform badly if it relies on oversized images, excessive animations or heavy scripts.
Use tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights to investigate performance issues.
Pay particular attention to real-world mobile performance, navigation, accessibility and interaction responsiveness.
Step 7: Monitor performance after launch
Once the redesign is live, continue checking Search Console and your analytics.
Compare search traffic, impressions, indexed pages and important business actions against your pre-redesign baseline.
Some ranking fluctuations can occur while Google processes significant website changes. A careful migration reduces unnecessary risks, but nobody can guarantee identical rankings after a redesign.
For businesses that want ongoing support beyond the redesign, my SEO services in Lebanon cover the broader work of improving search visibility over time.
6. What Makes Website Redesign Different for Lebanese Businesses?
A website serving customers in Beirut, Tripoli, Saida, Zahle or other parts of Lebanon should reflect how those customers actually use it.
The same applies when a Lebanese business also targets clients in Dubai, Riyadh or elsewhere in the GCC.
These are the practical considerations I include during planning.
Mobile-first design
Start with the phone experience.
Make pages easy to read, navigation simple and contact options accessible without unnecessary scrolling.
Test the website on real devices and different network conditions, not only on a fast desktop connection.
WhatsApp contact options
For many businesses in Lebanon, WhatsApp is an important communication channel.
If customers normally request prices, appointments or product information through WhatsApp, the website should make that action straightforward.
A prominent WhatsApp option can be useful, but it should complement the website’s content rather than replace clear service descriptions and other contact methods.
Arabic and English content
Some businesses need a single language. Others need both English and Arabic.
If you’re targeting both audiences, I recommend planning the languages properly from the start.
That includes natural translations, right-to-left design, mobile navigation, forms and relevant search terms in each language.
Local ecommerce payments
For a Lebanese online store, the redesign also needs to account for checkout.
Depending on the business and available integrations, that might involve Whish Pay, local card processors such as areeba or NetCommerce, and cash on delivery.
A store redesign isn’t complete until the relevant payment and delivery flows have been tested.
Regional customers
If your business also serves the GCC or Lebanese customers abroad, hosting, website language, service pages and checkout requirements may need additional planning.
The goal is to make the website work for your actual customers, not to copy a generic international template.
7. Should You Redesign Your WordPress Website or Change Platforms?
If your current site uses WordPress, a platform change may not be necessary.
WordPress can support business websites, content-heavy sites and WooCommerce stores.
In many situations, a redesign can improve the theme, structure, content and performance without replacing the CMS.
However, a migration could make sense if the current platform cannot support the functionality your business needs.
Before choosing a platform, consider:
- Whether your team can update content easily
- Which integrations and payment methods you need
- Whether English and Arabic are required
- The level of customization your business needs
- Long-term maintenance and hosting costs
- Whether you can retain ownership and access
If you’re considering switching to WordPress, see my WordPress development services in Lebanon for more details about WordPress websites, WooCommerce, migrations and maintenance.
The best platform isn’t necessarily the newest one. It’s the one that supports your business without unnecessary complexity.
8. How Do You Know Whether a Redesign Was Successful?
A website redesign shouldn’t be judged only by whether the new homepage looks better.
Before the project begins, agree on what success means.
For a consultancy, success might mean more qualified contact requests.
For a restaurant, it could mean easier access to the menu and more booking enquiries.
For an online store, it might mean fewer checkout problems and a clearer path to purchase.
Useful things to measure include:
- Contact form submissions
- WhatsApp contact clicks
- Appointment bookings
- Ecommerce orders and checkout completion
- Organic search clicks and impressions
- Mobile usability and loading performance
Compare performance against an appropriate baseline and account for seasonality, advertising changes and other factors.
Not every improvement will be visible immediately, especially in organic search.
A professional redesign should give your website a better foundation and make its performance easier to measure.
9. Should You Hire a Freelance Developer or a Web Design Agency?
Both can be appropriate, depending on your project.
A large organization with multiple teams, complex integrations and formal procurement requirements may benefit from an agency.
A small or medium-sized business may prefer working directly with an independent developer who manages design and development from beginning to end.
As a freelance web developer in Lebanon, I work directly with clients from initial planning to launch.
There’s no need to explain the same requirements to a salesperson, project manager and developer separately.
For a website redesign, that continuity matters because decisions about the design, content, technical structure and SEO are connected.
You can also explore my comparison of the best web developers and web design companies in Lebanon to understand which type of provider may suit your requirements.
The right choice is the developer or team that can show relevant work, explain their process and protect the assets you already own.
10. What Should You Ask Before Paying for a Website Redesign?
Before approving a proposal, ask the developer these questions:
- What problems did you identify on my existing website?
- Can any of those problems be fixed without a full rebuild?
- Which pages, content and functionality will be retained?
- How will existing URLs and Google rankings be handled?
- Will the redesigned website work properly in Arabic and English if needed?
- Who will test forms, mobile navigation and ecommerce checkout?
- Is the price fixed, and what exactly does it include?
- Will I own the domain, hosting, website and administrative accounts?
- What happens if something breaks after launch?
- How will we measure whether the redesign improved the business?
A good developer should be comfortable answering these questions before you pay.
I’ve covered the wider hiring decision in my guide on how to hire a web developer in Lebanon.
11. How I Approach Website Redesign Projects in Lebanon
My process starts with the existing website, not with a template.
I want to understand why the business is considering a redesign, what is already working, and what customers need to accomplish.
From there, I recommend one of three paths: improve the current website, redesign it while retaining the useful foundation, or rebuild it when the technical limitations justify the extra work.
I then prepare a written scope, timeline and fixed USD quote.
The design and development stay connected throughout the project, and SEO considerations are included before launch.
You can explore examples of my website work in my portfolio and see more about the technical work on my web development services page.
Not every business needs a new website. But when the existing one is limiting your growth, the right redesign can give it a much more useful role.
Frequently Asked Questions About Website Redesign in Lebanon
How much does website redesign cost in Lebanon?
It depends on the number of pages, the existing platform, content changes, required features and SEO migration work. I provide a fixed USD quote after reviewing the existing website rather than assigning the same price to every redesign.
How long does a website redesign take?
A typical business website redesign takes around 2–5 weeks. Smaller improvements may take less time, while larger ecommerce migrations or complex website rebuilds can take longer.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I redesign my website?
Not necessarily. Preserving important URLs, keeping valuable content, using appropriate redirects and checking technical SEO can reduce the risks. However, temporary ranking fluctuations are possible, and no developer can guarantee unchanged rankings.
Can I redesign my website without changing the domain?
Yes. In most cases, you can retain your existing domain. A redesign does not require buying a new domain name.
Can you redesign my existing WordPress website?
Yes. I work with WordPress websites, including design improvements, performance optimization, restructuring and migrations where needed.
Can you redesign a website built by another developer?
Yes, provided the necessary website access is available. I begin by reviewing the current setup and determining whether a refresh, redesign or rebuild is the better option.
Is a website redesign the same as rebranding?
No. A redesign changes the website’s layout, structure and experience. Rebranding may involve changing the company’s identity, positioning, logo, colors and messaging. The two can happen together, but they don’t have to.
Is redesigning my website worth the investment?
It can be when the current website is limiting credibility, usability, enquiries or sales. The decision should be based on actual business problems and the expected benefits, not simply the age of the design.
Final Thoughts: Should You Redesign Your Website in 2026?
A website redesign in Lebanon should do more than make your business look modern.
It should make your services easier to understand, improve the customer experience, work properly on mobile devices and support the actions that matter to your business.
Most importantly, it should preserve useful content and search visibility rather than throwing away everything the existing website has already achieved.
If the website still works well, make targeted improvements.
If its structure, design or technology is limiting your business, plan a proper redesign with a clear scope and SEO migration strategy.
