SEO Company vs Freelance SEO Consultant in Lebanon: Which Should You Hire? (2026)

By omar halabi 10 min read
SEO company vs freelance SEO in Lebanon: cost, who does the work, and what you actually get

Short answer: an SEO company in Lebanon charges $800 to $2,500 a month, gives you an account manager and a team, and suits large organisations with several markets and a procurement process. A freelance SEO consultant charges $250 to $800 a month, does the work personally, and suits most small and medium businesses, especially when the consultant can also edit the website. Cheap offshore SEO at $50 to $150 a month suits nobody. The question is not which is “better” but who will actually touch your site, and what you are paying for besides that.

Every business owner in Lebanon who searches for SEO lands on the same three choices and the same confusion: agencies with impressive client logos and vague pricing, freelancers with wildly different quotes, and offshore providers promising page one for the price of lunch. This article compares them honestly, including the case for hiring an agency instead of me.

The three options for SEO in Lebanon

Option 1: An SEO company in Lebanon

What it costs: $800 to $2,500 a month for a mid-size Beirut agency; more for the large ones. Most want a six- or twelve-month contract.

What you get: a team: account manager, SEO specialist, content writer, sometimes a developer. A proposal deck, a reporting dashboard, monthly meetings. For a large company that needs a supplier with a contract and a procurement file, that structure is the point.

Where it works: banks, universities, NGOs, groups operating in Lebanon and the Gulf, ecommerce brands with thousands of products, any business that needs ten pieces of content a month in three languages. If your project is bigger than one person can deliver in a reasonable time, an agency is the right call.

Where it fails:

  • You rarely talk to the person doing the work. Feedback goes to the account manager, gets summarised, and reaches the specialist a week later, slightly wrong.
  • Your fee funds the overhead. The office in Achrafieh, the sales team, the dashboards you never open. A $1,500 retainer might buy $600 of actual SEO work.
  • Junior staff do most of it. The senior people you met in the pitch are pitching someone else now.
  • Technical fixes get emailed, not done. Most agencies send recommendations to your developer. If you do not have one, they become your to-do list.
  • The contract. Twelve months is a long time to find out it is not working.

Option 2: A freelance SEO consultant in Lebanon

What it costs: $250 to $800 a month, or $150 to $400 for a one-off audit with fixes. The full ranges are in how much SEO costs in Lebanon.

What you get: one person who does the audit, the content, the local SEO and the report, and who you can message on WhatsApp. If the freelancer is also a developer, the technical fixes get implemented the same week instead of emailed as a PDF.

Where it works: most small and medium businesses in Lebanon. Clinics, restaurants, importers, consultancies, retail brands, professionals. Anyone who needs two or three pieces of content a month, a built-out Google Business Profile, a sound technical foundation and a plain monthly report.

Where it fails:

  • If the freelancer disappears. The real risk, and why the questions later in this article matter more than the price.
  • If the volume is genuinely too big. Ten articles a month in three languages is a team’s job.
  • If you want meetings and decks. A freelancer sends a report and a WhatsApp message. Some organisations need more ceremony than that.

Option 3: Offshore SEO at $50 to $150 a month

What you get: automated reports, spun or AI-generated articles nobody edits, and links bought from link farms. Nothing Lebanon-specific, no Arabic, no understanding of Whish Pay or the Beirut map pack.

Where it works: nowhere. Purchased links are the fastest way to lose rankings you already have, and the cleanup afterwards costs more than the SEO would have.

How to decide

Three questions settle it for most businesses.

1. How much content do you need? Two or three pieces a month: freelancer. Eight or more, in several languages: agency.

2. Who will implement the technical work? If you have an in-house developer, either works. If you do not, hire a freelancer who is also a developer, or budget separately for implementation on top of the agency fee.

3. Do you need a contract and a procurement file? If your finance department needs a registered company, a proposal deck and a signed twelve-month agreement, you are an agency client. If you want to try three months and judge the report, you are a freelancer client.

For most readers of this article the answer is a freelancer, which is what I am. The SEO services in Lebanon page explains how I run it: audit, fixes in the code, content, citations, report, month to month.

Questions to ask any SEO company or freelancer in Lebanon

The answers tell you more than the price.

  1. Who will do the actual work on my account? Get a name. If the answer is “our team”, ask who on the team.
  2. Can you show me a ranking you earned? A real keyword, a real client, a real Search Console screenshot. Not “we worked with big brands.”
  3. Can you implement technical fixes, or only recommend them? If only recommend, who implements, and what does that cost?
  4. What exactly is in the monthly fee? How many pieces of content, how much local SEO, how many citations. A number for each.
  5. How do you build links? The acceptable answer involves directories, publications, partners and real relationships. The unacceptable answer involves a quantity per month.
  6. What does the monthly report contain? Positions, impressions, clicks and enquiries from Search Console. Not an invented “SEO score”.
  7. Is there a contract, and what happens if I leave? Month to month, and you keep everything: content, access, Search Console, Business Profile.
  8. Do you work in Arabic? Natively, not translated.
  9. Can I speak to a current client? Anyone with real work says yes.

Red flags, whoever you hire

  • “Guaranteed page one in 30 days.” Not possible. Anyone saying it is either lying or planning to use tactics that get you penalised.
  • A quote with no content plan. If the proposal does not say how much content and who writes it, there is no plan.
  • Your Search Console, Business Profile or domain registered under their account. Everything should be in your name with them as a manager. If they hold the keys, you cannot leave.
  • Reports full of scores and no Search Console data. “Domain authority 34” tells you nothing. Clicks and enquiries tell you everything.
  • Links by the dozen. Bought links are a liability on your site, not an asset.
  • No live examples. Ask for links to sites they rank. Open them. Search the keywords. If the sites are not there, neither is the SEO.

Frequently asked questions

Is an SEO company or a freelancer better for a small business in Lebanon?

A freelancer, in most cases. For a small or medium business needing two to three pieces of content a month, local SEO and a technical foundation, a freelance SEO consultant in Lebanon delivers the same work for a third of the price, and you deal directly with the person doing it. SEO companies suit large organisations with high content volume, several markets, or a procurement process that requires a contract.

How much does an SEO company in Lebanon charge?

Mid-size SEO companies in Beirut charge $800 to $2,500 a month, usually on a six- or twelve-month contract. Freelance SEO consultants charge $250 to $800 a month, month to month. Offshore providers charge $50 to $150 a month and are not worth it at any price.

What is the difference between an SEO agency and an SEO consultant?

An agency is a company with a team; you work through an account manager and the work is distributed across specialists. A consultant is one person who does the work directly. Agencies offer capacity and structure; consultants offer direct access and lower overhead. The quality of the work depends on the people in either case, not the label.

Can an SEO freelancer fix technical problems on my website?

Only if the freelancer is also a developer. Many SEO consultants audit and recommend but cannot edit code, so technical fixes go back to you. I build websites as well as run SEO, which is why technical problems found in an audit get fixed directly.

How do I know if an SEO company in Lebanon is legitimate?

Ask for a ranking they earned with a Search Console screenshot, the name of the person who will work on your account, a written content plan with numbers, and a current client you can call. Check that everything will stay in your name. A legitimate company answers all of that without hesitation.

Should I hire an SEO company in Beirut or someone remote?

Location matters less than market knowledge. What you need is someone who understands Lebanese search: Arabic queries, the Beirut map pack, local directories, how people here actually look for a business. A freelancer in Tripoli who knows that beats an agency abroad that does not. Meetings happen on WhatsApp and video either way.

What should a monthly SEO report include?

Keyword positions, impressions and clicks from Google Search Console, enquiries from the website, what was done that month, and what is planned next. For AI visibility, a monthly check of whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity mention your business. Anything built on proprietary scores rather than Google’s own data is decoration.

The short version

Hire an SEO company in Lebanon if your organisation is large, your content needs are heavy, or your finance department needs a contract. Hire a freelance SEO consultant if you run a small or medium business and want the person doing the work to be the person you talk to, at a fixed monthly fee you can stop any time. Avoid offshore SEO at any price. Whoever you choose, ask the nine questions, keep everything in your name, and judge the work on Search Console data and enquiries, nothing else.
